Guillard vs. Roller official for July 2

A lightweight bout between Melvin Guillard and WEC veteran Shane Roller is set for UFC 132 this Summer.

The Ultimate Fighting Championship announced the match up earlier today.

Guillard has had a career resurgence since joining Greg Jackson’s team, winning four consecutive contests. He last competed at “UFC: Fight For The Troops 2,” earning a technical knockout victory over top prospect Evan Dunham. Prior to the victory, Guillard defeated Jeremy Stephens, Waylon Lowe, and Ronnys Torres consecutively.

Roller, meanwhile, is looking to build upon his UFC debut victory, which came via knockout against Thiago Tavares earlier this month. The victory was his second in a row, with the other being a submission win against Jamie Varner in his final WEC appearance.

UFC 132 will take place at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada on July 2. At this point in time, the lightweight contest is the lone bout on the card, though the remaining slots will be filled in the coming weeks.
