Jon Lester Rumors: Lefty’s Decision Imminent

It is widely regarded that Jon Lester was unanimously the first domino that was going to fall in MLB’s 2014 offseason. Lester is the prized-pitcher of this FA class. He is a rare big-game lefty who has pitched in both clinching games of the Boston Red Sox last two World Seires Championships. He also owns a .43 ERA in the Fall Classic.

Meanwhile, executives from one major-league team were told that Lester’s agents, Sam and Seth Levinson, were giving the process a little more time in the hopes that one of the four known bidders — the Red Sox, Chicago Cubs, San Francisco Giants and Los Angeles Dodgers — would up their offer to $150 million.

The delay in Lester’s decision has to do with the fact that he and his agent are looking for a 7th year in a contract.
