Jeremy Lin announced on his Instagram that he will be joining the Charlotte Hornets.

The deal is reportedly worth about $4 million over two years.

Here’s a look at everything you need to know.

1. He Was the 1st Taiwanese-American to Play in the NBA

Undrafted out of Harvard in 2010, Lin signed with the Golden State Warriors. He wasn’t the first Asian-American to play in the NBA–that honor belongs to Wat Misaka back in the 1940’s–but he did become the first Taiwanese-American to join the Association.

And he has certainly been the most successful Asian-American, taking the league by storm while with the New York Knicks during the 2011-12 season.

2. This Is His 3rd Team in 3 Years

After playing two season with the Houston Rockets, Lin, who was signed to a “poison pill” contract that saw him earn nearly $15 million in 2014-15, was traded to the Los Angeles Lakers last offseason in an effort by Houston to clear cap space.

3. He Started 30 Games for the Lakers Last Season

Lin averaged 11.2 points, 4.6 assists and 1.1 steals in 25.8 minutes per contest for the disappointing Lakers. While he only shot 42.4 percent from the field, he continued to improve as an outside shooter, knocking down a career-best 36.9 percent of his threes.

His playing efficiency rating (PER) of 15.6 was also the best it has been since his half-season in New York.

4. He Will Backup Kemba Walker

Walker is a solid young point guard, but with Mo Williams making his way to the Cleveland Cavaliers, the Hornets were in need of a backup.

5. He Was a Target for the Dallas Mavericks

Rough day for Dallas. First, the DeAndre Jordan controversy. Now, Lin spurns them for the Hornets.

Devin Harris and Raymond Felton remain Dallas’ only point guards signed for next season.
