Two teams with certain expectations proved critics wrong in their opening games.

The Steelers, who looked to be one of the NFL’s best offenses, struggled opening night in a loss to the Patriots. They did however, get 127 yards from veteran DeAngelo Williams, who has one more week as the starter before Le’Veon Bell returns from suspension.

The 49ers, looked at as a rebuilding process after a deluge of retirements, looked dominant in their home opener Monday against the Vikings. They also looked particularly effective on the ground, as Carlos Hyde took over to the tune of 168 yards and two scores.

The two historic franchises meet Sunday for their first time since 2011.
