Things got real dark, real fast.
It was nothing but massive disappointment in Guatemala on Friday, as Guatemala scored twice in the first 15 minutes and notched a 2-0 victory. While some USMNT players admitted they were shocked by the result, they must bounce back for what is now a must-win tonight in Ohio.
With Trinidad and Tobago set to notch another victory over St. Vincent/Grenadines, USA could be as many as six points behind first place in Group 3 of CONCACAF World Cup qualifying with a poor result tonight. One player that could spark the turnaround is Christian Pulisic, who has been called up by Jurgen Klinsmann for tonight’s match. A teenager who plays professionally for Borussia Dortmund, Pulisic has spent time with the first team in Germany and could evolve into one of USA’s best attacking threats. Klinsmann also added veteran Graham Zusi to the squad between matches, but it is unknown if either of them will start.
