The New York Islanders haven’t won a playoff series in decades. Neither have the Florida Panthers.

Someone is going to snap that less-than-ideal streak this season. And it all gets underway tonight. The Panthers, who cruised to an Atlantic Division title just a few days ago, host New York in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference quarterfinals on Thursday night, looking to get a jump on home ice. Meanwhile, the Islanders are hoping that the strength of their fourth line can continue to spark success on a deep playoff run.

Puck drop is slated for 8 p.m. ET and is being nationally broadcast on CNBC as well as SportsNet in Canada. On the local side of things, the game can also be viewed in-market on Fox Sports Florida and MSG+.
