The WWE has just revealed the brand new Universal Championship belt.

The belt made its debut at SummerSlam right before the much anticipated match between Finn Balor and Seth Rollins. The belt is basically exactly the same as the World Championship belt except with an entirely red background.

On social media, many WWE fans expressed disappointment with the reveal, noting that all three of the major titles are nearly identical. In fact, the SummerSlam audience was quite against the new belt as well, booing it several times and chanting “That belt sucks.”

This mostly fits with a rumor reported earlier this month that the new Universal Championship would be quite similar to the World Championship except with much more red. If that rumor is to be believed, we’ll also be getting a redesign of the World Championship belt, which after tonight will have a blue background for SmackDown. We’ll find out about a possible redesign on Tuesday, when Dean Ambrose enters after having successfully defended his title at SummerSlam.

Seth Rollins and Finn Balor went at it at SummerSlam in a match for the WWE Universal Championship, the Monday Night Raw equivalent to SmackDown‘s World Championship. Finn Balor won, becoming the first WWE superstar to hold this title. He seemed to intentionally not hold the belt up to the crowd much, seeing how much of a negative reaction it was getting.
