Hue Jackson knows the Bengals defense well, having been a part of Cincinnati’s coaching staff for the previous four seasons. It didn’t help his team during their first meeting, when the Bengals defeated the Browns 31-17 in Cincinnati. The Browns were led by a Cody Kessler/Kevin Hogan tandem in that contest, but Griffin brings a different threat to Jackson’s offense.
The Bengals offense struggled during the team’s three-game losing streak, but Andy Dalton came alive last week against the Eagles. Dalton threw for over 300 yards and connected with nine different receivers, his best game since AJ Green went out with a season-ending hamstring injury.
The Bengals have been disappointing this season, and Griffin presents the wild card that the Browns need. The Browns just need a few explosive plays from RG3 to stay balanced on offense, and the Bengals have been terrible on the road this season. The Bengals might escape with a win, but the Browns are not done fighting this season.
