The New Orleans Bowl features two local teams in Southern Miss and Louisiana-Lafayette. According to OddsShark, Southern Miss enters the bowl matchup as a 6.5 point favorite.

The over-under is set at 57.5 points. Southern Miss has been dreadful against the spread this season going just 3-9. Louisiana-Lafayette has performed much better when it comes to Vegas and enters the game at 8-4 against the spread.

The OddsShark computer is bullish on the Ragin’ Cajuns chances of pulling off the upset. The computer projects a 28.4-26.4 Louisiana-Lafayette victory. The computer is taking the points and the under on the point total.

Both teams come into the contest at 6-6 but are trending in opposite directions. Southern Miss has lost three of their last four games while Louisiana-Lafayette has won three of their last four.

The Ragin’ Cajuns fans are notorious for packing out the Superdome when they have made this bowl game. Like the computer, Heavy likes Louisiana-Lafayette to pull off the upset victory in New Orleans.
