NBA All-Star Weekend 2018: Location & Date

2017 NBA All-Star Weekend has arrived in New Orleans.

The event was initially slated to be hosted in Charlotte, but it was announced that it had been moved in favor of New Orleans on July 21, 2016 because of HB2 becoming law in North Carolina. The law bans governments in the state from passing ordinances to protect members of the LGBT community from discrimination.

After the game and the numerous festivities over the weekend come to an end in New Orleans, the focus for shifts to the 2018 All-Star Game and its surrounding events.

The next All-Star Weekend will be held at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. It will be the sixth time the city has hosted an All-Star Game.

The game will take place February 18, 2018 with State Farm All-Star Saturday Night being held the night before on February 17.

Los Angeles last hosted an All-Star Weekend in 2011. It also hosted in 2004, 1972 and 1963 and it was in Inglewood in 1983. The city is tied with New York for hosting the most All-Star Games in NBA history.

For the 16th straight year, the game will be televised on TNT.
