It’s time to rally again, Toronto.
For the second straight series, the Blue Jays are facing a two-game deficit after giving up a three-run lead in Game 2 of the ALCS on Saturday afternoon. Now, the Kansas City Royals are nursing a pretty serious early-series cushion and Toronto is, once again, looking to notch a much needed victory in Game 3.
Marcus Stroman gets the start for the Blue Jays on Monday night and the right-hander is riding a postseason wave of momentum that is exactly what Toronto needs right now. Stroman has struck out nine in his two playoff starts and posted a 3.46 ERA.
On the flip side, Johnny Cueto, the hero of Game 5 of the ALDS, gets the ball for Kansas City. Cueto retired the final 19 batters he faced in his last start and boasts a 2-0 record against the Blue Jays with a 4.05 ERA in three career starts.
