Cam Newton has led the Panthers to a franchise-best 8-0 start in 2015. As one of three remaining unbeatens, it’s time to actually consider whether or not Carolina can finish off an unbeaten regular season and become just the third team in the Super Bowl era to do so.
But perhaps it’s time to consider the possibility, since Carolina’s remaining schedule certainly is favorable. The Panthers are two games ahead of Green Bay (6-2), Minnesota (6-2) and Arizona (6-2) in the NFC. They are 2-and-a-half games ahead of Atlanta (6-3) in the NFC South.
They’ve gotten through the hardest four-game stretch of their schedule, and the remaining opponents are a combined 31-35. Have a look at the Panthers’ remaining schedule below:
Week 10: Sun, Nov 15 at Tennessee
Week 11: Sun, Nov 22 vs. Washington
Week 12: Thu, Nov 26 at Dallas
Week 13: Sun, Dec 6 at New Orleans
Week 14: Sun, Dec 13 vs. Atlanta
Week 15: Sun, Dec 20 at New York Giants
Week 16: Sun, Dec 27 at Atlanta
Week 17: Sun, Jan 3 vs. Tampa Bay
The toughest games in the second half of the year likely will be against Dallas, the two against Atlanta, New Orleans and New York. All of those are very winnable games, so it may be time to clear room in the record books for the 2015 Panthers.
