In the later months of the NFL season, fortune favors the team that is peaking at the right team. And nobody is peaking like the Jacksonville Jaguars. Right now they’re on the outside looking in, but a win over slumping Atlanta puts them within a game of the division title.
The Falcons are looking to avoid their first seven-game losing streak in 12 seasons. They hit rock-bottom last week, falling 38-0 to the undefeated Panthers.

Game Preview:
In the NFL, you’re only as good as your franchise quarterback. And while both teams have claimed to have found their man, Atlanta and Jacksonville are experiencing drastically different results.
Jacksonville seems to have settled in Blake Bortles in his second season. The former third overall draft pick is playing his best football in the NFL so far, throwing eight straight touchdowns without an interception. It’s helps to have an offense loaded with weapons, and that’s what the Jaguars are building. Big offseason acquisition Julius Thomas took a while to fit into the offense, but has now caught a touchdown pass in four consecutive games.
In Atlanta, it seemed as though Matt Ryan was to be the Falcons signal-caller for the next decade. But over the course of their six-game losing streak, Ryan’s deficiencies are starting to show. He’s thrown seven interceptions in the last four games, and is on pace to set a career-high. What’s worse, he’s thrown four picks inside the red zone, and has only six touchdowns to five interceptions in the fourth quarter this season.
