CBS is petrified that a “wardrobe malfunction” might ruin the public’s enjoyment of the 2013 Grammy Awards, which take place on February 10, 2013. So much so that an internal email leaked to Deadline.com shows the lengths that The Tiffany Network is going to prevent any mishaps at the show.
Particularly of concern for the CBS suits is:
OBSCENITY OR PARTIALLY SEEN OBSCENITY ON WARDROBE IS UNACCEPTABLE FOR BROADCAST
You can’t blame CBS for being worried after infamous Janet Jackson boobgate of 2004:
After this incident the FCC fined CBS $550,000, a fine that was subsequently deemed “unfair” on appeal.
And it isn’t just body parts that scare CBS; anybody with a slogan or message better not show up on February 10 either.
Please avoid commercial identification of actual brand name products on T-shirts. Foreign language on wardrobe will need to be cleared
