1. Morgan Looks to be in the Middle of Constructing a Prison for Future Prisoners

A hazy visual of a garage door opening hits the screen. One of the women overseeing the kitchen can be seen stocking some canned goods. Father Gabriel is spotted taking a stroll, Eugene and Sasha keep watch over Alexandria’s front gate, Morgan can be seen training and Carol is clutching onto her holy beads. Rick finds Morgan building up a prison cell of some sort. Rick asks him why he’s doing what he’s doing and Morgan alludes to having a place where their prisoners can have a place to stay. The scene fades into the starting of this all once again, but this time Carol can be seen being affectionate with her new lover. Rosita prepares herself and leaves a room that she’s apparently been sharing with Spencer.

Elsewhere, Daryl tends to his bike. Carol greets him and strikes up a conversation while they both share a cigarette. Carol asks him about the people that took him hostage and Daryl says he should have killed them when he had the chance. Daryl questions Carol about what her kidnappers did to her. Carol tells him nothing was done to her or Maggie. The scene fades out and gets hazy once again. The same scenes from the beginning return, but no one can be seen walking through Alexandria this time. Carol is once again seen holding onto her cross.

2. Daryl, Denise and Rosita Decide to Make a Trip for Some Important Goods

Eugene and Abraham walk outside of the front gate while Denise and Aaron watch over them. A Walker still seems to be struggling as its stuck nearby a pole within a car. Rosita has a quick chat about having a quick dinner date with Spencer. Once their awkward conversation comes to a close, her and Daryl speak about making a future run outside Alexandria’s gates. Denise ends up making that run alongside them in order to procure the items she needs.

While inside a truck, Denise tries to let Daryl know that she’s much better off driving the truck since she’s good with stick shift vehicles. Daryl keeps on driving anyway. They come upon a tree in the middle of the road, which then forces Rosita and Daryl to clear it out and kill the Walkers nearby. Denise watches them for a while and then exits the vehicle once the path is clear. Daryl decides to take a different path to their destination. Denise chooses to follow him, while Rosita take an alternate path.

3. Abraham and Eugene Get Into a Tense Argument That Ends With Abraham Parting Ways With Eugene

Abraham and Eugene have a friendly conversation as they walk down an alleyway. A rainstorm is in effect the whole while. Both men keep their guard up and hold their assault rifles on deck for any threats that come their way. Eugene tries to convince Abraham that he’s a changed man, but Abraham doesn’t seem to believe he’s adapted to the ways of the world. Elsewhere, Daryl, Denise and Rosita finally meet back up. Denise questions Rosita about her knowledge of survival as they come upon their next destination. When they arrive at a small building, Daryl gives them a game plan on what to do next.

When Abraham and Eugene get to their destination, Eugene makes his intentions clear – he wants to use the place they’ve found in order to produce bullets. Suddenly, a Walker comes out of one of the back rooms. Eugene wants to prove himself by putting the Walker down, but he has a hard time killing it. Abraham allows him to struggle with it for just a few moments before he steps in and takes it down himself. Eugene is angered by Abraham’s act and he gets into an argument with him about what just took place. Eugene tells Abraham that his services are no longer required. Abraham walks off and leaves Eugene to himself.

4. Denise Meets Her End After a Very Powerful Moment of Self Reflection

Daryl, Denise and Rosita move inside the small building they’ve just found. It seems to be a small mall they’ve entered. Denise struggles to keep down her lunch due to the horrid scent inside. Rosita locates the pharmacy and Daryl finds a way to open the front gate. Denise keeps watch as Daryl and Rosita try to pick up any medicine they can find. Something can be overheard wandering inside the next room. Denise takes it upon herself to find out exactly what’s making such a racket. She enters a darkened room that looks to have once been a nursery. She finds a decrepit Walker with its jaw halfway off. She then looks into a bloody sink and spots a baby shoe, which lets her know that something horrible took place here. She exits the back room in horror and accidentally slams into some glass collectibles in another room. She leaves the building altogether after Rosita asks her what she was doing. Denise sits outside and tries to recollect herself after witnessing such a terrible sight.

Daryl and Rosita find Denise outside. Daryl compliments her on finding this location and they they go about their business. Daryl and Denise chat about their past family friends while they walk back to their truck. When they walk back across the train tracks, Denise stops and finds a car with a cooler inside of it. That car also happens to have a live Walker inside of it as well. Denise lets Daryl and Rosita know that they should grab the cooler, but they tell her that they don’t need to. Denise ignores them and chooses to get the cooler herself. She almost loses her life fighting with the Walker, which alerts Daryl and Rosita to her location. Denise seems to want to prove herself by taking on this Walker herself.

She manages to kill it off and discover a cooler full of sodas. Denise gives them an entire speech about wanting to become stronger. Near the end of her speech, an arrow is shot right through her eye. All of a sudden, a group of armed survivors walks out with Eugene in tow. They quickly make Daryl and Rosita put down their weapons.

5. A Past Foe of Daryl’s Engages With Him and His Group

Daryl and Rosita encounter the main leader of the group that just captured them. The leader talks down to them and forces them to relinquish their weapons. Daryl recognizes the man and lets him know that he should have killed him when he had the chance. The man wielding Daryl’s crossbow alludes to the last time him and Daryl interacted. Eugene then spots Abraham in the distance. Meanwhile, the familiar man makes it clear that Daryl and Rosita need to bring them to Alexandria and let them take anything/anyone they please.

Eugene eventually lets them know that Abraham is hiding behind a set of barrels. When one of the leader’s men walks over to find him, Eugene decides to bite the leader’s “jewels.” A huge gunfight breaks out and Abraham, Rosita and Daryl engage with their enemies. The group decides to fall back after several tense moments. Daryl looks to shoot the leader down, but Rosita stops him before he can put an arrow through his head. The three of them pick up Eugene, who’s just been shot. They then slowly walk past Denise’s prone body.

6. Carol Makes a Tough Decision and Leaves Alexandria Behind

Eugene is in the hospital recovering while the group watches over him. Abraham lets them all know that Rick is on his way. Daryl looks outside the window with a face full of disappointment on his face. Eugene finally wakes up and strikes up another conversation with Abraham. Eugene seems to have finally proven himself and Abraham now seems convinced. Abraham exits the hospital and finds Sasha and pours his heart out to her. Sasha finally finds it within herself to invite Abraham inside for some “alone time.”

Back at Alexandria’s gravesite, Daryl can be seen laying Denise to rest while Carol watches him. Carol looks as if she’s finally reached her breaking point. Carol has written a letter to her new lover while the start of this episode’s scenes play all over again. Carol’s voice can be heard narrating the letter as the people of Alexandria tend to their duties. The last shot shows Morgan staring at the place where Carol was once sitting. Carol has decided to leave Alexandria altogether.
