Supergirl is still off for another two weeks, but there have been some key developments for the show this week. On January 8, The CW had its presentation at the bi-annual Television Critics Association Press Tour and announced that Kara will get to save National City in the third season during the 2017-2018 TV year. But there was other Supergirl news, too.

Here’s the latest on Supergirl, which doesn’t come back until January 23 at 8 p.m. ET.

If you enjoyed the four-way Invasion! crossover, you’ll be happy to know that it can happen again. That’s because The CW announced that all four Arrowverse shows – plus Jane The Virgin, Supernatural and Crazy Ex-Girlfriend – have all been renewed.

During the 2017-2018 season, Supergirl and DC’s Legends of Tomorrow will be back for third seasons, The Flash will be in its fourth and Arrow will be in season six. (That’s nothing compared to Supernatural, which will be in its 13th season next year.

Time to Face the Music (Meister)

Greg Berlanti and his team love to use the most obscure DC Comics characters possible and they will bring another one to life during the musical crossover episode with The Flash‘s Grant Gustin. Since both Gustin and Melissa Benoist, who plays Kara, were both on Glee, they certainly have the musical chops.

The villain for the episode will be none other than The Music Meister. The character debuted in an episode of Batman: The Brave and the Bold, a cartoon series with a lighter tone that had more in common with the 1966 TV series than modern, dark interpretations of Batman. In the episode, he was voiced by Neil Patrick Harris.

Collider reports that executive producer Andrew Kreisberg confirmed that the Music Meister will be the featured villain in the Supergirl/Flash crossover. Although we know it will be part of the second half of the season, it’s not clear when the episode will air. Hopefully Harris could find some time in his incredibly busy schedule to play the character in live action.

It’s Also Time to Learn How to Pronounce Mxyzptlk (Both Forwards & Backwards)

Mr. Mxyzptlk, the imp from the Fifth Dimension who has fun annoying Superman, will get a chance to annoy Kara too. Thanks to photos on Twitter, we now know who will be playing the role: Peter Gadiot. The photos don’t give any hints as to how Mxyzptlk will appear on the show though.

Gadiot is best known for his role as Cyrus on the short-lived Once Upon A Time in Wonderland. More recently, he played James on Queen of the South. Mxyzptlk is expected to appear in two episodes.

Although Tyler Hoechlin was great as Superman in the first two episodes of season two, there are no immediate plans to bring him back, sadly.

“We’d love to have him back, but right now, we’re still trying to figure out what we’re going to do for the rest of the season. We loved working with him, he’s amazing in the part and we’d be lucky to get him back,” Kreisberg told TVLine back in November.

CW President Mark Pedowitz also confirmed that Hoechlin isn’t signed on to make another episode and refused to say if a Superman series is being planned.

“Look, we were just really lucky,” Berlanti told the press on January 8. “We asked to have him come on for the first couple episodes and they were great about it. We’d love to have Tyler back, he’s amazing, he was great in the role. In success, I think all those things are possible. I’m always the guy who says ‘yes’ if there seems to be an appetite for it and the people involved are really nice.”
