Justin Timberlake is a multitalented superstar, and was a large part of the success of NSYNC. Along with the other four heart-throb’s: JC Chasez, Joey Fatonee, Lance Bass, and Chris Kirkpatrick, they sold millions upon millions of records and made teen girls swoon. Songs like “Bye, Bye, Bye,” and “Tearin’ Up My Heart” are forever in the boy band canon.
Timberlake has gone onto a hugely successful solo career and has shed his boy band image with a mix of mature themed music and acting, especially his comedic skits on Saturday Night Live.
The group took an extended hiatus at the height of their fame. But many have always wondered what life in NSYNC was like. Timberlake has recently opened up about the vibe around their success in the February 17th issue of The Hollywood Reporter .
He goes on to say “We were on a stadium tour, and I just felt like the whole thing was too big. It started as a fun snowball fight that became an avalanche.” He went onto say that he simply grew out of the group, and needed to follow his heart.
NSYNC reunited for a medley of songs when Timberlake received the MTV Video Vanguard Award in 2013, and then once again at JC Chasez’s 40th birthday last year. But, Timberlake is good without NSYNC as he has gone onto star in the movies The Social Network, In Time, and Alpha Dog. He has also steamed up the dance floor with platinum albums FutureSex/Lovesounds and The 20/20 Experience.
Timberlake was recently nominated for an Academy Award for Best Original Song for his Trolls Movie hit “Can’t Stop the Feeling” and is currently working on his next solo album.
