Kroger Stores Are Open on Thanksgiving, But Pharmacies Are Closed in Most Regions, with Some Exceptions
Most Kroger stores are open on Thanksgiving, according to Kroger’s 2019 Thanksgiving ad. Pharmacies, however, will be closed in most regions, with a few exceptions.
Local stores’ hours can vary. Here are examples.
- In the Atlanta region (like Savannah and Augusta, Myrtle Beach SC, and Columbia SC), stores are open during regular hours and pharmacies are closed.
- But stores in the Columbus region (like Toledo, Wheeling, Wierton and Mansfield) will close early at 5 p.m.
- In the mid-Atlantic region, stores are closing early at 5 p.m.
- Stores in the Delta region will close even earlier at 4 p.m. Pharmacies are closed.
- In the Cincinnati region, stores close at 5 p.m. and pharmacies will be open until 1 p.m.
- In the Louisville region, stores close at 5 p.m. and pharmacies and little clinics are closed.
- In the Nashville region, stores close at 6 p.m. and pharmacies are closed.
- In the Central region (such as Indianapolis and Fort Wayne), stores close at 4 p.m. and pharmacies are closed.
- In the Michigan region (such as Detroit), stores close at 5 p.m. and pharmacies are open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
- In the Southwest region in Texas, stores close at 4 p.m. and pharmacies are closed.

Kroger stores are typically only closed on one holiday: Christmas Day. All Kroger stores will be open on Black Friday. They’ll open and close at their regular hours. Pharmacies will also be open, according to regional Kroger ads.
