Did you guys know a new video game console entered the world of retail yesterday?
The $99 Ouya video game console has finally made itself available for those who’ve been keeping up on the Kickstarter-backed game hardware. Yesterday’s release of the system was marred by a few hiccups here and there (Kickstarter backers not receiving their Ouya consoles ahead of retail, hardware issues), but several gamers and tech heads have made it past the problems and enjoyed their time with the system so far.
Twitter is the outlet for gamers who want to voice their quick opinions, so you already know everyone’s offering their thoughts on the Ouya console.
Here’s 25 tweets that give a good representation of how people are feeling about the Ouya. Did you get one yet?
Considering saving up for an Ouya. Looks pretty neat, and is the only way to play the (less) not-outdated version of FF3 on a TV I think.

Really impressed by the OUYA's launch lineup so far. Still discovering neat games. You need to try Little Crane.

So, Ouya’s CEO is blaming the distribution partner. That’s not something you should do in a forward-facing way.

Even if it’s the distribution company’s fault, backers have a relationship with OUYA, not with the shipper. Don’t pass the buck.

I see zero reason for me to spend $99 on an Ouya. That thing seems like a disaster.

First thoughts on Ouya. Well … it's a nice idea. And hey, Deep Dungeons of Doom is cool.

Okay, Ouya's firmware download screen with random captions is kinda cute. pic.twitter.com/nVJEKgEboi

My Ouya came in while I was at E3, hooked it up this morning. Happy to report the controller lag I experienced pre-release is gone.

Who would throw out a perfectly good OUYA? pic.twitter.com/BDKi7PtY0z

I’ve got all my N64 favourites running on my #ouya goldeneye and Zelda FTW!

Attn video game retail employees: From now on, instead of saying “Sorry, we don’t have any Ouya consoles in stock” just say “Nouya”.
— Joel Bernstein (@CastIrony) June 26, 2013
Welp, I wanted to stream some OUYA, but since I can't control the video output and can't afford a new TV nor HDMI splitter, no can do. :(

I'm a backer BTW, pretty annoying when retail customers get replys about their OUYA they just bought when I've supported you from day 1
— Monkey D. (@MinaMeMine) June 26, 2013
I would like to start using my OUYA because as is, its a paperweight. ANY support or reply or something would be just…what's right.
— Monkey D. (@MinaMeMine) June 26, 2013
OUYA didn't sell you hope. You buy beta test of yourself.
— Asani Viriyaakavuthi (@bankkung) June 26, 2013
If you buy the Ouya I will hate you and probably slap you. Don't be dumb.

Got an Ouya today. Let the hacking begin. Already side loaded the Sirius XM app on to it.

I missed a photo opportunity while updating the #Ouya it says preparing awesome sauce and a bunch of funny things
— CondemnedCustoms LLC (@CondemnedCustom) June 26, 2013
Shocked that Ouya is doing so well! Reportedly sold out of major retailers in a day.

I wouldn't waste my money on the Ouya. That console came out two years too late.
