WithThe Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Complete Edition coming out this week, it seems that developer CD Projekt Red is shifting their focus to hiring for their upcoming RPG Cyberpunk 2077.
According to a recent job posting on their site, the Poland-based company is looking for a Vehicle Gameplay Programmer to join their team and “create the whole architecture of vehicle related code, and the physics of driving / flying in those vehicles”. There are several other vehicle-related postings as well, indicating that driving may be a large component of the game.
These postings, along with a number of other listings, suggests that the developer is concentrating its efforts on the reportedly massive game. This is consistent with their recent announcement that the studio would be doubling the number of developers in preparation for the ambitious project.
Beyond the fact that it is a dystopian RPG set in the near future, little is known about the mysterious Cyberpunk 2077. It was first announced back in 2012 with a short teaser trailer, and since then, little to no information has been revealed. CD Projekt Red has been primarily focused The Witcher 3 and accompanying DLC, so now that it’s finished and they are shifting gears, maybe we’ll get to know more about this fascinating game, which they promise will be “even better, even bigger, even more revolutionary”.
