No Man’s Sky was released August 2016 and was met with an overwhelmingly negative reaction. The promotion and marketing of the game was investigated for false advertisement. The game was eventually clear of the claims.
No Man’s Sky included 18 quintillion procedurally generated planets that each have their own unique features. A multiplayer element where players could see each other was promised but when two streamers were at the same location on launch day, this was found to not be included.
There have since been updates to the game adding features but it has had a hard time bringing players back to the since abandoned game.
