Is ‘Playerunknown’s Battleground’ the Next Big Battle Royal Shooter?

Since it’s release on Steam on March 23, 2017, Playerunknown’s Battleground has remained a staple in the top sellers section of Steam and has remained one of Steam’s most played games. Games have come out before it the past that are similar to this, The Culling and H1Z1 come to mind, but what sets this apart from those titles?

For starters, the game has received two updates since the time of this writing which is a great sign for an early access game. You want to know the developers are still there and not just hoarding your money. The game isn’t where it needs to be performance-wise but it is getting there. As of right now, it won’t run very well on lower end PCs so keep that in mind.

The shooting mechanics just feel much more polished than a game like H1Z1. That’s just a benefit of being a newer game. It could also be a sign of better developers and someone who cares more about their game. Battlegrounds features a lot of different weapons and a lot of variety in gameplay. It sounds cliche that no two games will be the same but that is almost certainly the case here.

It just feels rewarding to find new guns and when you are able to pick off an unsuspecting player from afar. You can team up with a buddy and that opens up a whole new level of teamwork and communication. There’s a lot to like about this game and we can hope that it keeps getting updates and fully realizing its vast potential.

There are tons of videos on YouTube and tons of streamers on Twitch so you can check out the game and see if you’ll like it. Admittedly, it’s pretty fun to just watch.
