Here Are the Best Deals for the May 12 PSN Flash Sale

DOOM 2016

For those who are already overwhelmed by all the fantastic games available to play, a new PlayStation 4 Flash Sale has just arrived to decimate out wallets and time. While some of Sony’s previous flash sales have focused around specific themes, this one is simply delivering some great games at incredibly low prices. There’s a nice mix this time around of indie and Triple-A titles to choose from, so make sure to grab a few before the sale ends May 15 at 8 a.m. PST.

Below are our choices for best deals during this PSN Flash Sale and which games we recommend grabbing if you can afford them. Remember, this sale ends on Monday so if you are in need of a new game to hold you over until the next big release here are some fantastic options.

Triple-A Deals:

  • DOOM – $19.79
  • Mirror’s Edge Catalyst – $9.99
  • XCOM 2: Digital Deluxe Edition – $29.99
  • Evolve: Ultimate Edition – $12.49
  • Transformers: Rise of the Dark Spark Gold Edition – $19.79

Indie Deals:

  • SOMA – $8.99
  • Shadow Complex – $5.99
  • 2064: Read Only Memories – $7.99
  • Axiom Verge – $9.99
  • Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime – $5.99
  • The Fall – $3.99
  • The Swapper – $3.74
  • Stealth Inc: Ultimate Edition – $3.74

There is no doubt that the standout deal of this PSN Flash Sale is DOOM at $19.79. If you are looking to buy this title at Gamestop used it will cost you $27.99, which means the current digital offering is a steal for those yet to experience DOOM’s chaotic gameplay. XCOM 2 is also another great choice and the while it may seem expensive, the digital deluxe version typically costs $74.99.

When it comes to indie titles, there are a ton of fantastic choices to pick from that can satisfy any taste in gaming. Our top recommendations are the survival horror game SOMA and the adorable puzzle/platformer Stealth Inc. Both titles are superbly crafted and are priced rather cheaply if you are on a budget.

Movies are a little less inspiring when it comes to saving money, as the deals are not nearly as drastic this time around. There are still some fantastic choices, however, we only recommend purchasing a film if it is listed under $10. We do not recommend renting as you can find a lot of these movies on premium networks like HBO, Starz, and Showtime. This PSN Flash sale also lacks cheap movie collections, so we don’t recommend buying any of the ones currently offered.

However, if you are looking to grab some new entertainment there are some quality games available on sale right now. Remember, this sale ends on May 15, so don’t wait if you are considering buying a new game to play for the upcoming summer drought.
