WATCH: ‘Overwatch’ Horizon Lunar Colony Gameplay

Overwatch’s newest map is live in the Public Test Realm today. The map is called Horizon Lunar Colony and it is set on the moon. Blizzard teased us with information about the map on Monday and officially unveiled it today.

The map is an Assault map which means you must either attack or defend points on the map. There is a small area with low gravity that is pretty much avoided if you are going for the objective. At the start of the map, you can look through a telescope and see different maps, which is a cool addition.

A new set of patch notes are available and you get to see how McCree’s Deadeye ability has been buffed. Here’s what it says for McCree from the patch notes:

McCree

  • Deadeye
    • Targets now begin locking on after 0.2 seconds, instead of 0.8 seconds
    • Damage accumulated over the first 1.0 seconds increased from 20 to 80 (damage per second after the first 1.0 seconds is unchanged)

Developer Comment: McCree’s ultimate can deal a lot of damage if it has a lot of time to build up, but it was often too difficult to get even a small amount of damage out before being stopped or killed. These changes make it more flexible and powerful.

Lucky for you, you can be the judge on if it’s too powerful or not from this video. The patch will only affect players playing the PTR on PC so you don’t have to worry about this patch coming into the main game any time soon.

If you want to join the Public Test Realm, you can follow these steps as found on Overwatch’s website:

Step 2: Navigate to the Overwatch tab on the left-hand menu.
Step 3: Select “PTR: Overwatch” from the REGION/ACCOUNT drop-down menu.
