Nintendo’s new fighting game intellectual property, ARMS, released last week for the Nintendo Switch and was recently featured on Conan O’Brien’s Clueless Gamer segment.
The segment features O’Brien playing games, usually ones he doesn’t know anything about, and tries to play them. Often times, he grows frustrated with the games and trashes them, in a comedic way of course. It’s worth noting that O’Brien is not an avid gamer, and actually has little to no gaming knowledge himself. Although most segments feature recent games, we have seen older titles, like E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial, appear on the segment.
This particular episode features O’Brien and special guest, Will Arnett, as they attempt to play ARMS. Will Arnett has achieved recent fame for his voice work for The Lego Movie and The Lego Batman Movie as the voice of Batman.
O’Brien explains that ARMS is a fighting game where your characters have ramen noodles for arms, but surprisingly doesn’t take very many more shots at the game.. Previous games O’Brien has played in the past include For Honor, Battlefield 1 and Final Fantasy XV, among many more. The segment has become so popular that a full series is being produced based on the segment and its currently in development for TBS. Conan O’Brien will not be hosting the program. The segment first debuted in 2012.
For what it’s worth, O’Brien lost the battle of ramen noodles. The loser had to create a nice video about the other player so O’Brien had to create a video praising Arnett’s acting abilities and how he is such a great guy. You can catch the full, nearly 10 minute, video above. You can find the rest of Conan O’Brien’s Clueless Gamer segments online right here.
