Dragon Ball FighterZ Trunks
Bandai Namco

Dragon Ball FighterZ is enjoying tons of adoration from casual and pro fighting game players alike.

It made a huge splash during E3 2017 and brought in a ton of Best of Show awards from various publications and websites. The FGC got to take Bandai Namco’s upcoming fighter through its paces during its first ever Evo tournament. And the responses to the game’s incredibly animated visuals and hype 3v3 gameplay mechanics are still overwhelmingly positive. During the final day of Evo, the main producer behind the game (Tomoko Hiroki) came on stage to give everyone a special treat.

Weeks prior, Trunks was unveiled as the newest member of the Super Saiyan roster. And now, the whole world can watch him in action via a brand new gameplay trailer. Trunks arrives from the future with his trusty blade, powerful Super Saiyan transformation, focused beam blasts and his incredible Heat Dome Attack. He looks like the perfect team member to have on deck when Goku, Vegeta or Teen Gohan are a part of the equation. Check out Trunks and all his signature moves in the trailer posted below:

A couple of other news updates for Dragon Ball FighterZ were also revealed. Sign up’s for the game’s closed beta will be available on August 22. The closed beta will officially kick off from September 16 until September 18. Once in, you’ll get to use nine playable characters. Those fighters will most certainly be Goku, Vegeta, Teen Gohan, Frieza, Cell, Majin Buu (Fat), Trunks and two yet-to-be-announced characters. So when will those two other fighters be revealed? Make sure you keep an eye out for them on July 21 since they’ll be shown off via the Japanese-only V-Jump magazine. Personally, this writer hopes that Piccolo and Krillin are the next Dragon Ball icons who’ll be playable during the beta phase.

Dragon Ball FighterZ is scheduled to land on the PS4, Xbox One and PC in Early 2018.
