If you’ve been having trouble securing a Nintendo Switch then you might have some luck with the new Splatoon 2 bundle that’s releasing exclusively at Walmart stores. This isn’t like other bundles that have appeared at GameStop that included a bunch of extra items you have no use for either.
The Splatoon 2 bundle will include a download code for Splatoon 2 (sorry, no physical version here), a Splatoon 2 carrying case, the Neon Pink and Neon Green Joy-Cons and a Nintendo Switch console. The bundle will be available starting September 8 at a suggested retail price of $379.99.
Nintendo of America’s Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing says this bundle will give players a great entry point into the world of the Nintendo Switch.
“Consumers in Japan and Europe have already had a strong response to Splatoon 2 bundles in their territories,” said Bowser. “This exclusive Walmart bundle gives people who have been waiting to buy a Nintendo Switch a great value and incentive to get splatting.”
Splatoon 2 is the Nintendo Switch’s latest title to cross the one million sales threshhold joining the likes of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, 1-2 Switch and ARMS. Nintendo says there have already been more than 400 million online battles fought across the global player base on Splatoon 2, despite the title being less than a month old.
With the release of Splatoon 2 came the release of the Nintendo Switch Online App. Despite the fact that other consoles have built-in voice chat, the Nintendo Switch requires the use of the app to talk to other players online. The app does give players some nice features though such as the ability to check out their Splatoon 2 stats from their phone. As more online games come out for the Switch, we’re likely going to see more games take advantage of the app.
