The PSVR has quietly had a strong 2018 and the year isn’t over yet.
Some serious system sellers have hit the platform this year such as Tetris Effect, Astro Bot: Rescue Mission and more recently, Beat Saber.
It looks like more developers have begun to support the platform recently and with the PlayStation VR recently celebrating its second birthday, it appears there is no end in sight for the little VR that could.
Let’s take a look at the upcoming games for PSVR for the rest of 2018 and into 2019. Make sure you check out our list of best games for the PSVR as well.
We’ll keep this list updated as more games are announced.
1. Borderlands 2 VR
Release Date: December 14, 2018
You’ve probably played Borderlands 2 before as it was a popular game back when it released in 2012 and it remains popular still today thanks to the release of the Handsome Collection.
Borderlands 2 VR will be coming out exclusively for PSVR at first with it potentially coming to other platforms such as Oculus, Vive and Windows Mixed Reality in the future. It will feature full locomotion and teleportation controls making it an excellent game for VR veterans and newcomers alike.
One glaring flaw is it comes with a hefty $50 price tag and with none of the DLC. If you can get past that you’re certain to find a lot of fun with this title. There’s also a bundle you can pick up if you’re wanting to jump into the PSVR ecosystem and haven’t already.
2. Blood & Truth
Release Date: TBD
Blood & Truth is being marketed as a VR action movie so you can expect a lot of shooting. If that’s something that interests you in a VR game then it should be right up your alley.
The game takes place in modern day London with a mash-up of classical movie orchestral music which might end up creating a very unique blend.
The narrative will have choices for your character to make so it sounds like there will multiple endings, adding to the replay value.
3. Everybody’s Golf VR
Release Date: Spring 2019
If you’ve ever wanted to golf while playing your PSVR it appears your chance will be here soon. Everybody’s Golf VR is coming to PSVR and you’re going to get to live out your golfing fantasies.
Players will be able to golf with either their DualShock 4 controller or with the Moves so you will have options for your golfing. If you’re in VR you might as well use the Moves to get your full immersion.
The PSVR will give players their chance to see the terrain up close and personal along with a better way to read the winds.
4. Megalith
Release Date: January 8, 2019
Megalith was announced a while back but we’ve finally received a definitive release date and a beta.
Megalith is a VR MOBA/hero shooter, which we’re not entirely sure is something people asked for, but it is here and players seem to be enjoying it so far.
The game allows players to choose between five starting titans as they help get minions into the other team’s base. These matches are just 2v2 but you’ll find the action is still pretty intense at moments and it should be a lot of fun if you’re a fan of the genre.
5. Dreams
Release Date: TBD
Dreams is a PS4-exclusive title that will be playable in both normal and VR modes. The VR mode will be available day one but there’s not really a whole lot known outside of that.
Dreams is from the creators of LittleBigPlanet and Tearaway and it’s described as an ever-expanding game universe. If you’re unclear what that means, don’t worry because it’s a little hard to understand.
It looks like it’ll be an exciting game in VR whenever it comes out. If you’re a fan of LittleBigPlanet you’re probably going to want to have this game on your radar.
6. Eden Tomorrow
Release Date: 2018
Eden Tomorrow is being developed exclusively for PSVR and while details are scarce about the game, it does look promising.
The release date does say 2018 so that leaves us a little under a month to see if that will be delivered on.
The title sounds like it’ll focus on exploration and world building which is always cool to see in a VR title.
7. Trover Saves The Universe
Release Date: 2019
Trover Saves the Universe is a game that announced at E3 2018 and it’s by the co-creator of Rick and Morty so it sounds like you’ll be able to expect a lot of the same humor to come over here.
It looks like it’ll be a platformer in VR, like Astro Bot: Rescue Mission, so it’ll be something to look forward to if you’re a fan of that game.
Details are limited but we do know it appears to be a PSVR exclusive which will surely help boost the PSVR lineup going into 2019.
8. Jupiter & Mars
Release Date: Q1 2019
Another E3 2018 announcement, Jupiter & Mars puts players into the body of a dolphin as it uses echolocation to solve puzzles and find treasure.
The trailer shows many of the visuals you can expect as well as some of the animals you’ll encounter which makes it seem like this will be just as much as an experience as it is a game.
You’ll have an AI partner dolphin to help you along so while being in the ocean may seem scary you’ll take solace in the fact you aren’t do it alone.
9. Ghost Giant
Release Date: TBD
Ghost Giant is another PSVR exclusive coming from the studio behind Fe and Flipping Death.
We don’t have a ton of information about the game but we can probably expect it to have a nice story if the other games from the studio are anything to go by.
The trailer shows us a glimpse at what to expect and it looks like the title Ghost Giant will actually be you watching the characters in VR.
10. Star Child
Release Date: TBD
We received our first look at Star Child back in 2017 during E3 but the game still hasn’t released.
The PSN store gives Star Child a December 31, 2018 release date so it seems like we should be able to expect it soon.
Star Child appears to be another platforming PSVR game, which is something we can never have enough of. The plot revolves around a ship touching down on a foreign planet which requires you to explore the new area and discover all of the technology the planet has to offer.
11. Wolfenstein: Cyberpilot
Release Date: 2019
A new Wolfenstein title is on the way in the form of Wolfenstein: Cyberpilot and it’s launching as a VR title.
This game takes place 20 years after The New Colossus and it will be a fully-feature FPS just in the VR world. While it sounds like it’ll be canon it probably won’t be entirely important to the main story since it is a VR title only.
The release date given is 2019 so we can expect to hear more about the game in the coming months.
12. Golem
Release Date: 2019
Golem is a game that we don’t really have a whole lot of information about. It has been in development for several years but we still don’t have a concrete release date locked down.
Golem is the first title from Highwire and it features music from Marty O’Donnell, best known for his work with the Halo franchise.
The game puts you in control of a child who has become bedridden due to an injury who dreams of exploring the outside world.
