A new Detective Pikachu game is coming to the Nintendo Switch, The Pokemon Company President and CEO Tsunekazu Ishihara confirmed during the Pokemon Press Conference 2019.
Ishihara said during the conference that the game will feature a different ending from the original game on the 3DS. However, it has not been confirmed if this is a port or a sequel.
Hiro Matsuoka of Toho compared the movie adaptation of Detective Pikachu to Godzilla in terms of box-office success.

One of the most interesting announcements from the conference was Pokemon Sleep, a game that uses the sleep patterns of players to affect gameplay. The game can use the newly announced Pokemon GO Plus + with the app; it reads the movement of the player while they sleep and sends it to their smartphone. The game is coming sometime in 2020. Junichi Masuda announced a cloud-based service known as Pokemon Home. It works similarly to Pokemon Bank and in fact connects to that service as well as Pokemon Go and the Pokemon games on Switch. You can trade anytime and anywhere with a smartphone.
Pokemon Masters was also announced at the conference. The game includes all of your favorite Pokemon trainers and their Pokemon from past core Pokemon titles. From the gameplay trailer shown, the game seems to involve 3V3 Pokemon battles. The game is launching calendar year 2019 on Android and iOS. The Pokemon Company will reveal more details about the game next month.
The conference also announced Pokemon Home, a brand new cloud-based service that connects to Pokemon Bank, Pokemon GO and the Pokemon games on Switch to bring over your Pokemon from those adventures. With the service, you can trade Pokemon anytime and anywhere with a smartphone, according to Junichi Masuda. The service is coming in early 2020.
