Kendall Grove announced the potential match up via his Twitter account this week.
Grove, who has struggled with consistency throughout his career in the UFC, managed to pick up a victory against Goran Reljic at UFC 116, winning via split-decision. The former top prospect of the UFC’s middleweight division has gone a disappointing 4-4 in his last eight contests inside the Octagon.
Meanwhile, Maia looks to continue his climb back to a title shot. The Brazilian jiu-jitsu ace dropped a unanimous decision to champion Anderson Silva at UFC 112, but rebounded recently at UFC 117 with a unanimous decision victory over Mario Miranda, pushing him a step closer to title contention once again.
The bout is set to serve as a main card contest at “The Ultimate Fighter 12 Finale” on December 4 in Las Vegas, Nevada. The card will feature a the bout between the season’s finalist, as well as a rumored bout between Stephan Bonnar and Igor Pokrajic. No other bouts have been rumored for the card as of this point in time.
