Tate returns to Strikeforce this fall
Former Strikeforce women’s bantamweight champion Miesha Tate is returning to the cage soon.
Though a specific date has not been revealed, Strikeforce CEO Scott Coker believes that she will return in early fall, according to MMAjunkie.com.
“We don’t have anything to announce officially, but I believe you’ll see her back in the cage in a relatively quick manner,” Coker told MMAjunkie.com radio. “She’s pretty much healed up and ready to start training. But you’ll see her back in the cage the early part of the fall.”
Tate last fought at “Strikeforce: Tate vs. Rousey” earlier this year, losing her title to Ronda Rousey in the evening’s main event. Tate won the title in 2011 with a submission win over Marloes Coenen.
The loss to Rousey was Tate’s first since a 2009 loss to Sarah Kaufman. Kaufman meets Rousey this August at “Strikeforce: Rousey vs. Kaufman.”
