Edwards accumulated 17 points (7-16 FG, 3-7 3Pt), five rebounds, seven assists, one block and three steals over 34 minutes during Thursday's 133-107 loss to New York. Edwards didn't perform at his best Thursday and failed to reach the 20-point mark for the third time this season. However, and perhaps in what might be a worrisome trend, each game has come since the beginning of December. Edwards remains a highly productive fantasy option across all formats, and he continues to post career-best numbers even amid a subpar stretch. He's averaging 25.9 points per game, which matches his output from 2023-24, but he's also shooting a personal-best 42.4 percent from deep.

Anthony Edwards Latest News
Scores 17 points in loss
Goes for 23 points Friday
Edwards ended Friday's 97-87 win over the Lakers with 23 points (9-20 FG, 2-7 3Pt, 3-5 FT), six rebounds, one assist, one block and one steal over 33 minutes. Edwards led the way for the Timberwolves in scoring once again, and even though he exited the game briefly in the second half, that didn't prevent him from carrying Minnesota to a 10-point win in this low-scoring matchup. Edwards remains the Timberwolves' go-to option on offense. Even though he had a minor two-game stretch in which he struggled badly in early December, he's turned things around with three straight outings with at least 23 points. Edwards is averaging a career-high 26.3 points per game this season, and his 42.3 percent from three-point range is also a career-best figure for the five-year veteran.
Returns to action
Edwards (ankle) has returned to Friday's game against the Lakers, Chris Hine of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports. Edwards tweaked his ankle in the third quarter, but it wasn't a serious injury. Despite exiting the game briefly, the star guard returned to the hardwood in the fourth quarter.
Heads to locker room Friday
Edwards tweaked his left ankle and went to the locker room during the second half of Friday's game against the Lakers, Jon Krawczynski of The Athletic reports. Edwards appeared to have suffered an ankle injury and went straight to the locker room to get it checked out. If he doesn't return Friday, it'd be a massive blow for the Timberwolves. It'd also translate to more minutes for players such as Nickeil Alexander-Walker and Donte DiVincenzo.
Leads Wolves in loss
Edwards posted a team-high 27 points (10-19 FG, 5-9 3Pt, 2-2 FT), five rebounds, six assists and one steal across 37 minutes during Sunday's 114-106 loss to Golden State. The fifth-year superstar put together another strong all-around performance, with his five threes being his highest total since Nov. 24 and his streak of games with at least one steal sitting at seven. Edwards has scored at least 20 points in 21 of 23 contests to begin the season, averaging a career-high 26.4 points per game with 5.4 boards, 4.5 threes, 4.0 assists and 1.4 steals.
Hands out season-high nine dimes
Edwards finished with 30 points (11-18 FG, 4-10 3Pt, 4-4 FT), four rebounds, nine assists, two blocks and one steal over 35 minutes during Friday's 107-90 victory over the Warriors. Edwards bounced back from two subpar performances and stepped up every time the Timberwolves needed him in his battle between two Western Conference contenders. Aside from reaching the 30-point mark for the sixth time this season, the nine assists were also a season-high mark for the star guard. Even when factoring in the two subpar showings in the wins over the Lakers and Clippers, Edwards is still averaging 24.7 points, 5.7 rebounds and 4.2 assists per game over his last 10 games while shooting 42.1 percent from three in that span.
Struggles with shot Wednesday
Edwards closed Wednesday's 108-80 win over the Clippers with 16 points (5-14 FG, 4-9 3Pt, 2-2 FT), six rebounds, four assists and four steals across 26 minutes. Even though Edwards bounced back from the eight-point dud he posted in the win over the Lakers on Monday, it's worth noting he's gone back-to-back games without reaching the 20-point threshold for the first time this season. The shooting woes are real with Edwards, although, to be fair, he wasn't expected to maintain the elite numbers he posted in the first weeks of the campaign throughout an entire season. Edwards is shooting just 34 percent from the floor over his last five games, but fantasy managers shouldn't be overly worried about this slump. After all, Edwards remains one of the best shooting guards in the league and is likely to bounce back sooner rather than later.
Scores season-low mark Monday
Edwards posted eight points (3-13 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 1-2 FT), seven rebounds, three assists and two steals across 27 minutes during Monday's 109-80 victory over the Lakers. Edwards had a woeful showing Monday, and while the Timberwolves ended up winning the contest, it was the first time the star guard failed to reach the 20-point mark this season. Edwards has been one of the most productive guards in the league over the first five weeks of the regular season, so there's a strong chance this was nothing more than an outlier.
Scores 21 in tight victory
Edwards chipped in 21 points (7-21 FG, 4-9 3Pt, 3-5 FT), four rebounds, three assists and two steals across 36 minutes during Friday's 93-92 victory over the Clippers. Edwards scored a game-high 21 points in this matchup and did just enough to lift the Timberwolves to a much-needed win following the team's recent results. The star shooting guard continues to enjoy an outstanding start to the 2024-25 campaign, and this outing kept his streak alive of scoring at least 20 points in every game so far. Edwards is averaging 26.6 points per game while shooting 44 percent from deep over his last five contests, and this outing allowed the Timberwolves to snap a four-game losing streak.
