Collier closed with eight points (3-10 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 2-4 FT), seven rebounds, 11 assists, one block and one steal over 35 minutes during Friday's 136-123 loss to the Pelicans. Although he moved back to Utah's bench with Keyonte George and Collin Sexton both healthy Friday, Collier distributed a game-high 11 dimes and led the team with 35 minutes. Collier is pushing to carve out a bigger role with the Jazz as he continues to display an aptitude for passing, averaging 11.0 points, 9.0 assists, 4.6 rebounds and 1.0 steals in 31.8 minutes through his past five outings. The rookie first-rounder's fantasy upside may be limited while George and Sexton are healthy, but the former should be able to maintain a fairly stable role while Jordan Clarkson (foot) sits on the shelf.

Distributes game-high 11 assists
Shifts back to second unit
Collier is coming off the bench in Friday's game against the Pelicans. With Collin Sexton and Keyonte George manning Utah's backcourt, Collier is the odd man out Friday. Across his past four outings, Collier is averaging 11.8 points, 8.5 assists, 4.0 rebounds and 1.3 threes in 31.0 minutes, so he should still play meaningful minutes off the Jazz's bench in the absence of Jordan Clarkson (foot).
Sets new career-high mark in dimes
Collier ended Wednesday's 117-112 loss to the Hornets with 11 points (4-8 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 2-2 FT), three rebounds and 10 assists over 26 minutes. Collier has been playing well in a starting role in recent weeks and has excelled as a playmaker. The rookie out of USC is averaging 8.3 points, 7.5 assists and 5.1 rebounds per game in eight starts this season, and while the efficiency is still lacking, he's taken advantage of the larger role he's had of late.
Sets new career high in points
Collier finished with 23 points (9-16 FG, 3-6 3Pt, 2-2 FT), seven rebounds, seven assists and one block across 37 minutes in Sunday's 112-111 overtime victory over the Nets. Despite leaving the game for a brief period of time to be evaluated for a concussion following a hard foul, Collier checked back into the contest and submitted with the best stat line of his young career. With Keyonte George (heel) having been sidelined for the past five games, Collier has started at point guard in every contest, averaging 8.2 points, 7.8 assists, 4.8 boards and 1.0 three-pointers in 30.4 minutes during that stretch. While Collier should be a decent source of counting stats for as long as George is out of the lineup, efficiency is a major concern for the rookie first-round pick. Collier is shooting just 35 percent from the field and 56 percent from the free-throw line through his first 30 career games.
Heads to locker room Sunday
Collier left Sunday's contest against the Nets after taking a hard fall but has been cleared to return to the game Sarah Todd of The Deseret News reports. Collier took a hard fall on a shot attempt and left for the locker room to be evaluated for a concussion. After a quick trip to the back, Collier was cleared to return, so he shouldn't be in danger of missing any time.
Struggles in start
Collier accumulated three points (1-6 FG, 1-4 3Pt), six rebounds and nine assists over 26 minutes during Tuesday's 124-121 loss to the Hawks. With Keyonte George (heel), Jordan Clarkson (foot), John Collins (personal) and Brice Sensabaugh (illness) all on the sidelines, Collier had a tough night shooting the ball in the starting lineup. He's had a rough time during his rookie season and is now shooting 30.7 percent from the field and 15.7 percent from beyond the arc through 27 appearances.
Enters starting lineup
Collier will start Sunday's game against the Magic. Collier will enter the starting five due to Keyonte George (heel) and Jordan Clarkson (foot) being sidelined. In two starts this season, Collier has averaged 7.0 points, 7.0 rebounds and 5.5 assists in 30.0 minutes per contest.
Back to bench Saturday
Collier is not in the starting lineup for Saturday's game against the 76ers, Sam DiGiovanni of ClutchPoints.com reports. The Jazz will shift their lineup Saturday, and Collier will return to the bench since Jordan Clarkson will get the nod in the backcourt alongside Collin Sexton. Collier is averaging 2.7 points and 1.5 rebounds across 16.1 minutes per game when coming off the bench this season.
Logs adequate line in first start
Collier contributed seven points (3-10 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 0-1 FT), eight rebounds and seven assists in 35 minutes during Thursday's 122-120 loss to Portland. The Jazz elected to slide Svi Mykhailiuk over to the wing and give Collier, their 2024 first-round pick, his first crack at a starting role. The USC product hasn't seen much action, and while his shot was a bit rusty, he delivered solid secondary numbers to support the backcourt. Collier will slide back into a reserve role when Keyonte George (ankle) returns.
