French satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo just published cartoons mocking Muhammad, the prophet of Islam.
This follows violent protests at U.S. embassies over an anti-Islam hate film made in America, and French authorities are sending riot police to protect the magazine’s offices, reports Reuters.
Talk about bad timing!
The magazine hit newsstands on Wednesday displaying a front cover showing an Orthodox Jew pushing a turbaned figure in a wheelchair with caricatures of the prophet on inside pages, including some of him naked.
The timing of the cartoons couldn’t be worse, with the violent protests in Libya and other Middle Eastern countries rioting over the anti-Muslim film Innocence of Muslims.
