Obama and Romney Take a Night Off from Debates for Laughs

President Barack Obama and Republican candidate Governor Mitt Romney set aside their differences Thursday night at the annual Alfred E. Smith Memorial Dinner in New York City to poke fun of each other, and themselves, amid the debates and they are actually both pretty funny.

Both made speeches and conjured up laughter throughout its entirety. Romney told the crowd, “I was actually hoping the president would bring Joe Biden along this evening, because he’ll laugh at anything.”

In Obama’s speech he joked, “We’re getting to that time where folks are making up their minds. Just the other day, Honey Boo Boo endorsed me, so that’s a big relief.”

The annual Alfred E. Smith Memorial Foundation Dinner is a fundraiser for charity named after the former governor of New York and it has been a tradition since 1960 for the presidential candidates to attend.
