Nineties R&B star Natina Reed, who appeared in the cheerleading film Bring it On, died Friday night after being hit by a car in Georgia.
Police said she was in the roadway, and the driver will not face charges because he was determined not to be at fault.
Reed, who played cheerleader Jenelope, was a protege of the late Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes, who died after crashing her car. She has a 10-year-old son with rapper Kurupt.
Her bandmate, Devoe, paid tribute to her on Twitter:
My heart and my soul is in so much pain. My sister, my best friend, I will always love you. My world as I know it has forever changed. Until we meet again, may you find comfort in the arms of an angel. I love you Natina.
And actress Gabrielle Union, who starred in Bring it On with Reed, also paid her respects on Twitter.
