1. It Ships With the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean
As previously reported, the S3 mini will be rocking Android’s latest OS, Jelly Bean 4.1.

2. Comes in 8GB and 16GB flavors
As is the industry norm, the S3 will come in standard and deluxe offerings ranging from 8GB to 16GB. Samsung falls short in the memory game to Apple whose iPhone boasts 16GB, 32GB and 64GB models.

Smaller phone, smaller battery. Samsung has always trailed Apple in the battery market, not enough info has been released to tell how big of an energy suck the S3 mini really is.

4. The Release Date Was Not revealed

Samsung was a bit of a tease with the event. They didn’t release much info or even the date of the phone’s release. The announcement did feel a bit forced and it is possible that Samsung just wanted to get there announcement out before Apple dominates the tech spotlight during THEIR announcement on October 17th.

5. The price Was Not Revealed
Another Samsung tease. The S3 mini price was not revealed though experts do speculate that it will fall shorter than the regular S3.

The announcement was made in Germany which could be a big tell of where the phone might get released first. We could see Samsung roll out the S3 mini in Europe and then bring it overseas to America later on.

7. It Will Have Some Cool New Features
One cool new feature uses the front facing camera to recognize when someone is looking into the screen. This lets the phone know when to dim or brighten the picture on the screen.

8. It Will Run Off ‘S Voice’
A collective groan was heard amongst tech nerds with this announcement. The S3 mini will run of ‘S voice’, Samsungs answer to Google voice and Siri. S voice isn’t exactly the best voice recognition software and it could be a major drawback to the phone if you are not able to load Google Voice onto it.

9. The Screen Will Be 4 Inches
As everyone previously assumed, the S3 mini will be releasing at 4 inches. This is .8 inches smaller than the S3 and .3 inches smaller than the S2.

The Galaxy S3 mini screen will still be .5 inches bigger than the 4s who boasts a 3.5 inch screen. However, The Galaxy S3 mini will share the screen size as the iPhone 5.
