Israel today fired missiles into a Gaza high-rise media building, assassinating Ramez Harb, head of media for Saraya El Quds, the armed wing of Islamic Jihad.
The Israel Defense Forces tweeted that Harb was among four senior members of Islamic Jihad “known” to be inside the building, which took a “direct hit.”
It was the second strike in two days on the building, which houses the offices of several news organizations including Britain’s Sky News. Most journalists reportedly stayed away from the building after the initial strike.
The IDF tweeted that the strike was targeted to the Islamic Jihad “cadre” in the building, which was “using reporters as human shields.”
Reports ID’d Harb as the person slain in the attack. An IDF tweet spells his last name “Harab.”
The Gaza death toll in current conflict is approaching 100.
