A Palestinian man was shot dead and nine are wounded by Israeli troops along Gaza’s border on Friday after a truce between Israel and Gaza’s Hamas rulers. It is the first reported killing since the ceasefire on Wednesday that ended eight days of brutal fighting.
The man killed was a part of a group that approached Israel’s border fence with Gaza to pick up a damaged Israeli Jeep when soldiers opened fire.
The Hamas Prime Minister in Gaza, Ismail Haniya, has urged Gazans to respect the truce.
The violence killed 162 Gazans and at least 30 militant commanders in total as well as flattened many buildings.
