School psychologist Mary Sherlach, 56, is identified as one of Adam Lanza’s first victims in the Sandy Hook Elementary School massacre in Newtown, Connecticut.

Sherlach had worked at the school since 1994.

John Reed, a former school superintendent, told NJ.com:

If there ever was a person, by qualifications and personality, to work with children, to be a school psychologist, it was Mary.”

Sherlach lived in Trumbull, Connecticut, with her husband, Bill. They had two adult daughters together.
