Man Killed by Falling Refrigerator While Grabbing a New Year’s Beer

A man seeking some cold refreshment ended up a cold corpse after a fridge fell on him and crushed him as he grabbed a beer.

CBS Los Angeles reports the freak accident happened to an L.A. man around 4 p.m. New Year’s Day in the 1300 block of 76th Street.

He kept the beer in his garage, where refrigerators often stand alone as opposed to being braced by cabinets in a kitchen.

The man, in his 60s, was pronounced dead at the scene.
