N. Korea Pisses Off World, Again, with Underground Nuclear Test

North Korea has conducted an underground nuclear test, its most successful to date, which set off an artificial earthquake.

The success of this test marks an important step toward North Korea’s goal of fitting a warhead onto a missile that could reach the United States.

This test marked the third atomic device the rogue nation has tested, and it immediately drew disapproval from Washington and the UN, along with North Korea’s only friend, China.

The stated goal of the test was to combat “outrageous” hostility from the U.S. that “violently” attacks North Korea’s peaceful, sovereign rights.

At around 2 a.m. EST this morning, the Obama administration released this statement: “The United States remains vigilant in the face of North Korean provocations and steadfast in our defense commitments to allies in the region,” as reported by DailyMail.

The UN Security Council held an emergency meeting this morning to discuss possible new sanctions to be placed on North Korea.
