They say money can’t buy happiness, but whoever wins Saturday night’s Lotto 6/49 jackpot might beg to disagree. Tomorrow’s Lotto 6/49 jackpot is the biggest in Canadian history at a whopping $55-million.

“We’re thrilled to offer players the largest estimated jackpot in the game’s history,” Wendy Montgomery, vice president of marketing and sales at Ontario Lottery and Gaming, said in a statement.

Canada’s current 6/49 record payout is $54.3-million. A single ticket shared by a group of oil workers in Alberta won that jackpot back in October 2005.

On Twitter, people are sharing their hopes that their lucky numbers are drawn tomorrow night.

Last Friday, another big lotto winner was drawn. Toronto grandmother Maria Carreiro won $40-million in the Lotto Max draw.

“It’s quite possible one person will walk away with the full $55 million,” Sarah Kiriliuk, media relations manager at the OLG told SunNews. “As for what they should to with it? I always like to see some of the money be used for philanthropic purposes.”

According to OLG, the odds of winning Saturday’s jackpot are approximately one in 13,983,816. Without a winner, the jackpot will set a new record the following Wednesday.
