Foreskin Protesters Plan to Crash Oprah Event in Ottawa

Fans attending tonight’s instalment of Oprah Winfrey’s current speaking tour at Ottawa’s Scotiabank Place should prepare to be greeted by protesters shouting about some very personal matters.

About two dozen members of the Canadian Foreskin Awareness Project, or Can-Fap, plan to stage a “circus” to bring awareness to Winfrey’s role as a spokesperson for a skin cream they claim is made using baby boys’ foreskin.

Protest organizer Glen Callender says protesters will be dressed in a variety of “provocative” outfits, including men in white jumpsuits with red crotches. The group began protests in Vancouver back in January.

Callender says Winfrey is a hypocrite for using the $165 SkinMedica cream while speaking out against female genital mutilation. He and his fellow activists want the Queen of Talk to stop using SkinMedica products, retract her endorsement of SkinMedica, and “champion the fundamental human right of all children — male, female and intersex — to grow up with whole genitals.”

But their demands may be for naught. SkinMedica marketing director Gloria Luna says their products are not formulated with human tissue.

“Our TNS formula was bio-engineered from a single tissue donation collected over 10 years ago for wound healing research,” she told Shine.

Callender and the Can-Fap maintain their position that Winfrey and others should discontinue use of the product.

“Even if it was just one foreskin, that foreskin was stolen from a baby boy who did not consent to his foreskin being used in commercial cosmetics products.”
