Judge Throws Out Paula Deen Racial Discrimination Lawsuit

In an interesting turn of events, a federal judge in Georgia has decided to throw out the racial discrimination lawsuit against Paula Deen that ironically ended her career.

Lisa Jackson, a former employee of Deen and her brother Bubba Hiers, sued the siblings last year for racial discrimination and sexual harassment over the five years she spent at their restaurant, Uncle Bubba’s Seafood and Oyster House.

The judge ruled today, according to TMZ, that Jackson had no right to sue Deen because Jackson is white and that any comments the siblings may have made do not apply to her.

The ruling, however, does maintain Jackson’s sexual harassment claims, according to WALB.com.

With this development, it will be interesting to see if Deen fires back at Jackson with a defamation suit in retaliation for ruining her career.

Paula Deen was fired from the Food Network in June due to claims that she used the “N” word, and wanted a traditional southern wedding that would include black servants dressed in slave garb. The lawsuit, which featured many of the claims, also says that at one point, Deen simulated a sex-act using an eclair.
