A seeing eye dog pushed a baby carriage out of the way of an oncoming car in Lancashire, England this week, saving the one-year-old child.
Jessica Cowley, 28-years-old and legally blind, was standing crossing the entrance of a parking lot when a car lost control and headed straight for her and her baby. Just then, Jet, Cowley’s guide dog for the last five years, pulled itself out of her grip and pushed the baby and its strolled over, getting the child out of the way of the oncoming car.
The car struck Cowley and she told the Telegraph, “it banged into me sending me flying.” Cowley was unharmed and although one-year-old Jacob fell onto the ground, he was uninjured with the exception of a small cut on his lip.
Cowley said Jet, her trusty black lab, was not trained for this sort of rescue but has been very protective of the baby.
