Ford told reporters that there was only one person to blame and that he felt that “1,000 pounds had been lifted off [his] shoulders.” The embattled mayor gave a tear filled speech where he begged for the forgiveness of voters.
On November 5, Ford admitted to smoking crack cocaine after months of speculation regarding his drug use. Gossip website Gawker attempted to raise money to pay a Toronto drug dealer for a video the dealer claimed showed Ford smoking crack.
