On Wednesday, the former president of Cuba, Fidel Castro, made his first public appearance in nine months. The video that surfaced, which you can see clips from above, shows Castro visiting an art studio in the Romerillo neighborhood of Havana.
Castro, who is now 87, has been in declining health since his retirement in 2008. Since then the reclusive leader has watched his younger brother, Raul Castro, become elected and lead the country as his successor. Castro lead the island nation for 44 years following his 1959 revolution.
