No sólo se fue un gran periodista, se fue también un amigo. Mucho dolor. Mis condolencias a @verobrunati y familia. DEP Jorge "Topo" López.

The manager of Atletico Madrid and former Argentine international player, Diego Simeone, appeared to inadvertently tell the wife of a journalist that her husband had died. Reporter Jorge ‘El Topo’ Lopez is believed to have been killed in a car crash in Sao Paulo.

Simeone called Lopez his “friend” and described his “pain” at the loss. He then mentioned Lopez’s wife, Veronica, in the tweet. She responded to him: “No Diego, don’t tell me that. Someone, please call me.”
Lopez was killed in a hit-and-run when he was thrown from the car in which he was traveling after it was hit by another car near his hotel, the Grande Sao Paulo, reports Sport.es.
