On Tuesday morning, Anthony Bosch turned himself in to the DEA’s office in connection to the ongoing Biogenesis scandal. Bosch, the co-founder of Florida’s Biogenesis anti-aging clinic, is accused of distributing steroids to famous Major League Baseballs players, including New York Yankee Alex Rodriguez.

Here is what you need to know:


1. A Number of People Were Arrested

ESPN reports that around 6 a.m. on Tuesday morning, federal agents rounded up a number of people around For Lauderdale, Florida, who were wanted by the police in connection to the Biogenesis scandal. It is unknown exactly how many people were arrested.

Bosch and his attorney, reported to the office of the DEA early to surrender.


2. CBS Reports Bosch Reached a Plea Deal

CBS reports that Bosch has agreed to plead guilty in exchange for a lesser sever charge. He will be charged with conspiracy to distribute anabolic steroids.

ESPN says a new conference to report the developments will occur Tuesday afternoon in Miami.


3. He Testified Against Alex Rodriguez

During the investigation of Yankee all-star Alex Rodriguez’s steroid use, Bosch became the governments lead witness, testifying that he had personally injected the baseball star.


4. He’s Been Investigated Before

In 2012, Bosch was investigated for practicing medicine with a PhD but not a proper medical degree or license. The case was eventually settled with a $500 fine.


5. A Rod Is Fighting Against His Suspension

In January, A-Rod was sentenced to a a 162-game suspension, after a reduction from 211 games. However, A-Rod has been, and claims he will continue to fight the suspension in court.
